Ambassador Mrs. Reenat Sandhu

Mrs. Reenat Sandhu assumed charge as Ambassador of India to Italy and San Marino on 9th July 2017. 

Ambassador Reenat Sandhu began her career in the Indian Foreign Service in 1989. She has served in various capacities in Indian Missions abroad including Moscow, Kyiv, Washington DC, Colombo, New York and Geneva. She has also served in headquarters at the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, handling Investment & Trade Promotion, Projects, East Europe and Sri Lanka desks. 


Ambassador Sandhu was Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the WTO in Geneva during 2011-14. Prior to her assignment to Italy, she was the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC.

Ambassador Sandhu is a Post-graduate in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. She is married to Mr. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka and has two children.
